Claire Lundberg - Founder

Claire Lundberg is the founder of Adaptable Literary, and has worked in development and media rights for film and television for more than twenty years. Since founding the firm in 2013, she’s worked with many Oscar and BAFTA winning companies, including A24 Studios, HBO Drama Series, Working Title Films, StudioCanal, Fremantle, and others, and has identified books that went on to become award winning films (CONCLAVE) and international series (NORMAL PEOPLE).

A recognized expert on the international media rights landscape, Claire has been featured on BBC Radio 4, Deadline Hollywood, and Publishing Perspectives. She was a development executive for producer Scott Rudin, and for Jane Rosenthal and Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Films. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, she began her career as a theatre director, and worked on world premiere plays by Liz Meriwether (THE NEW GIRL), Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (RIVERDALE), and Caryl Churchill. An eclectic and wide-ranging reader, she loves big swings and great, propulsive plotting, and is the chief reader of science fiction internally.

Favorite adaptations include ARRIVAL, ABOUT A BOY, BLADE RUNNER, and Damon Lindelof’s WATCHMEN.

Simon Pepper - Senior Scout

Simon Pepper - Senior Scout

Simon has been working with CTL since 2018, first in Paris and now in London. He oversees our UK scouting and relationships with our UK clients, coordinates our team of local language specialists, and advocates internally for British English spellings over American.

Favourite adaptations include A ROOM WITH A VIEW (that pond scene, come on) and SUBMARINE.

Emily Featherman - Senior Scout, Special Projects

Emily Featherman - Senior Scout,
Special Projects

Emily Featherman is a Senior Scout in the London office and has been working at CTL since 2021. She also oversees the company’s theatre scouting in New York and London. She has an MPhil in Theatre from Trinity College Dublin, so if you have any questions about Samuel Beckett or who the next Sally Rooney might be, she can answer them. Her favorite authors are the eccentrics of literary fiction, such as Joy and Diane Williams (not related).

Her favourite adaptations are Jane Campion’s AN ANGEL AT MY TABLE and OLD JOY, the Kelly Reichardt movie.

Sarah Praseedom - Scout

Sarah Praseedom - Scout

Sarah joined CTL Scouting in 2024 after starting her career in TV development and deciding she missed reading. You can usually find her at the cinema, by herself, watching whatever is on.

Her favourite adaptations are ones that do something entirely unexpected with the material, like Jonathan Glazer's UNDER THE SKIN and Paul Verhoeven's STARSHIP TROOPERS, although her favourite film is of course the greatest book ever put to screen, JURASSIC PARK. She prides herself on being concise.

Gabriella Chipol - Coordinator

Gabriella Chipol - Coordinator

Originally from Gibraltar, Gabriella joined CTL Scouting in 2023 and brings a distinctly international outlook to her work, scouting and reading across both the English and Spanish-language markets. Known in the office for her deep knowledge of BookTok, romance, and romantasy, she keeps a close eye on the books, authors, and online reading trends shaping the landscape, offering insight into the conversations driving readers across different markets.

Her favourite adaptation is THE HANDMAIDEN, though her deep love for #unhinged female characters brings GONE GIRL a close second.

Hamidah Saleem - Assistant Scout & Assistant to Claire Lundberg

Hamidah Saleem - Assistant Scout & Assistant to Claire Lundberg

Hamidah joined CTL in 2025, and when she’s not manning the inbox, she’s chuckling at the witty one-liners thrown around the office. In between her duties as an assistant scout, she reads psychological thrillers, praying she can still sleep at night.

With a compulsion for rewatching things, she returns to her all time-favourite adaptations – THE LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL and FANTASTIC MR FOX – an amount she’d rather not disclose.
